Sconder Nasser an Australian Professional Heavyweight boxing champion in full boxing trim as sparing partner to Jack Johnson, the first Black American and eventual winner of the World Heavyweight title fight held in Sydney against defending champion Tommy Burns in 1908. Jack Johnson is still considered to be the best heavyweight boxer of all times. His size and power meant it was difficult to find suitable qualified sparing partners for him. The fact Sconder was invited fives you some idea of the standing he had in Australian boxing circles at the time. On an International scale, this was the biggest event held in Australia up to that point in time.
